I am a retired children’s librarian who loves painting, gardening, decorating, music, and my two precious grandchildren!
Before the pandemic I lead a Therapeutic Coloring Group at a local health clinic and group members found that coloring is a wonderful way to relax while releasing their creativity. I find that painting is similar. I thank my daughter-in-law for gifting to me my first set of acrylic paints. That gift started me on my journey into creating original art and I am passionate about it.
I work with acrylic paint, art markers, alcohol inks, and crushed glass on stretched canvas using a variety of tools to create my art. I am inspired by so many things: patterns, textiles, gardens, cottages, geometric designs, and color schemes. I enjoy interpreting what I love onto the canvas. My creative process involves infusing my art with layers of color, depth, and textures to create an impressionistic or abstract expression of a beautiful object, place, setting, or mood.
My paintings are original, authentic, and personally signed. Unless otherwise noted, all of my paintings are finished on all sides of the canvas, creating a finished look, so the piece does not require a frame. Of course, my paintings can be matted and framed for added impact.
Please note that I use the @artrooms app in my listings to showcase my art in a home or office setting.
Always check the dimensions of the painting you are interested in as listing photos do not always represent the actual size of the piece.
Unless otherwise stated frames and mats shown in photos are not included.
My paintings are finished with a coat of matte UV varnish to protect and preserve your art investment. Glossy UV varnish is also available on request.
Please contact me if you are interested in a custom piece. I would be happy to work with you to create something beautiful to enhance your home or office or provide a unique gift for that special occasion or person.
I hope you enjoy browsing through my art and find something that is just right.
Thanks so much for visiting!
